A tweed coat is cut from heavier, estate-weight wool than a jacket — built for genuine cold-weather use rather than as a styling layer on a mild day. It’s the piece to reach for when a jumper alone isn’t enough: over a suit on the way into a formal event, or over jeans and knitwear on an ordinary cold morning.

Fit and sizing. Our tweed coats are cut to a tailored length — long enough to layer cleanly over a suit jacket or a chunky jumper without pulling at the shoulders, and true to size for most builds. If you expect to wear it over a suit regularly, we’d suggest sizing up one from your usual jacket size to leave room underneath.

How to wear it. Worn over a Tweed Suit, it finishes a formal winter outfit without adding bulk. Worn over jeans and a jumper, it works for everyday cold-weather wear. Pair it with one of our Tweed Scarves on the coldest days — the herringbone and check patterns are woven to match.

Care. Genuine wool tweed is naturally weatherproof and keeps its shape through a full winter of regular wear. Brush off surface dirt rather than washing, and only dry clean when it’s actually needed.

Every coat below is made from genuine wool tweed, cut for real British winters, and warm without the bulk.
