Great Kilts
The Great Kilt is the original — a single length of wool cloth, pleated and belted around the body, worn long before anyone tailored a kilt the way we know it today. If you want the historically accurate version rather than the modern cut, this is it.
What Makes It a Great Kilt
Unlike a tailored kilt, this is worked from one continuous length of fabric — pleated by hand and belted into place rather than sewn to a fixed waistband. Sizing works differently here too, since the fabric length and how it’s worn both depend on your build.
- Full traditional construction — pleated and belted the historic way, not pre-sewn
- Real Scottish wool — enough weight and length to drape and belt properly
- Sized to you — tell us your measurements and how you plan to wear it
Who This Kilt Is For
Reenactors, Highland Games competitors, and anyone who wants the real 17th-century garment rather than a modern tailored kilt. If you just want a practical, everyday or formal kilt instead, the Scottish Kilt is the tailored, easier-to-wear version.
Tell us your build and how you plan to wear it, and we’ll make your Great Kilt to size.
