A kilt pin sits on the lower-right corner of the kilt apron, weighting the fabric and adding a decorative finish — it is never pinned through both layers of the kilt, only the outer apron, so the kilt still swings freely.

Choosing a design. A sword or dagger pin is a classic everyday choice, while a brooch-style pin with a thistle or Celtic knot suits a more formal or dress outfit. Pick a finish — antique silver or pewter — that matches your sporran chain and kilt belt buckle.

How to wear it. Position the pin roughly two to three inches up and in from the bottom corner of the apron, through the top layer of fabric only.

Care. Keep away from moisture to prevent tarnishing, and store separately to avoid scratching the finish.

Every pin below is a genuine cast metal design.
